Tella Thera is a labour of love initiated by a couple, built by a few, and inspired by many.
Together with a team of hospitality experts, designers, architects, engineers, chefs, farmers, friends and family - all of whom share the same love and conviction towards sustainability, we dreamt up and gave life to a space where you can call home, where all are welcome to gather, and where every detail has been carefully crafted to respect and conserve our environment.
origins
The word Tella is derived from the name “Tellus”. In ancient Rome, Tellus was the goddess of the Earth, and in ancient Greece, Tellus was the happiest man on Earth.
The second word Thera, comes from the Greek word therós (summer) or therismós (harvest). For the ancient Greeks, the summer harvest was a very important time of year and symbolises an activity that involves taking care of the Earth, so the Earth can take care of us in return.
